Along with the former Capel MLA Steve Thomas - Bunbury MLA John Castrilli lobbied the State Government to recommission the Greenbushes to Bunbury rail line.

In 2004 the Carpenter Government made a promise to put the rail line back on track to reduce the increasing heavy vehicle movements on South West roads but by the 2008, there was no progress.

The rail line was due to be recommissioned by mid-2007 yet because that has not happened an extra 144 truck movements a day are now putting extra pressure on our already overburdened roads.

Fortunately the State Liberal Government has pledged the funding required to recommission the line during its first term and John looks forward to seeing it come to fruition.
