Improving our roads
As the region’s industry
and population booms, the pressure on our road infrastructure is
increasing.
Unfortunately there are
many problematic issues concerning South West roads because they have
not been upgraded to cope with the increase in vehicle movements, in
particular trucks.
Building the Outer Ring
Road and Port Access Road are two long overdue projects which John has
been pushing for not only during his time in Parliament but also
during his time as the city's Mayor.
He has also pushed heavily
for a flyover for the Eelup roundabout to address what is the
third-worst roundabout in Australia based on crash statistics.
Fortunately – thanks to
John’s work – the State Liberal Government has pledged to:
-
Commence work on the Eelup Roundabout Flyover in its first term
government.
-
Commit $62.9 million to complete the Port Access Road
-
Commit $58.7 million for Stage One of Outer Ring Road
-
Complete the Perth to Bunbury Highway ($276 million)
